On Tuesday, October 24, 2017, the 30th Annual Banquet of the Belmont Sports Hall of Fame was held at the Park Street United Methodist Church Family Life Center in Belmont. As we ate a great meal catered by Catfish Cove, the evening’s master of ceremonies, Joe Lawing, introduced Belmont Hall of Famer, Phil Tate, to deliver a special tribute to a man who meant the world to many of us, Bobby Brown. Coach Tate delivered a wonderful tribute and it was great to hear someone else share their story about a man who was a long-time supporter of Belmont and Belmont Sports. Bobby may have left us on June 4, 2017, but his contribution will not be forgotten anytime soon. I hope you enjoy this tribute to my mentor and friend.
